Frank Lampard believes that Jose Mourinho has not lost the dressing room

Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard believes that Jose Mourinho has not lost the dressing room despite rumours about a mutiny.

The players have been performing very poorly just seven months after winning the Premier League. This may come as a shock to many, but Chelsea have a record of the worst defence of the league title in the history of the competition. Many believe that the seeds of a poor performance were already thrown even as early as in the opening game of the season when the players were shocked at Mourinho’s treatment of the team doctor for her intervention to treat a player.

Lampard, who holds a special relationship with Mourinho, says that the Portuguese boss is not the type to lose a dressing room and that he will turn around the fortunes of the club sooner rather than later. Chelsea themselves have retained faith in the manager on such a belief. Normally, the club not have patience with the manager once results go astray. However, they have so far not only with regard and with the season approaching Christmas it is highly unlikely that they will until the end of the season. Lampard has been rumoured to return to Chelsea in a coaching capacity once he retires.

"I don't know about lost them [the players].They are good players but far too many of them are underperforming and they have been for a while. This is Chelsea we are talking about now. Chelsea on a bad year should be top six. They should still be there or thereabouts but where they are, just above the relegation zone, is impossible.I don't know whether he's lost them, but something has to change. Whether it's attitude or performance or something else, it has to change," said the former star, who won three league titles with the club.
