GERVINHO IMPRESSES

Gervinho was one of the inconsistent players during his time at Arsenal. This led to his sale in the summer. Roma were the club to secure his signature and they have not regretted it one little bit.

Gervinho has been one of the best players in the Italian league this campaign, and the Ivory Coast international has thanked captain Francesco Totti for helping him settle quickly in the team. Due to the influence from Gervinho in terms of goals and assists, Roma have been able to put together a title challenge.

After it looked like Juventus were running away with the title a few weeks ago, Roma have managed to claw back the advantage and are now just nine points behind leaders with a game in hand. They could potentially reduce this gap to just six points if they win their game in hand. Gervinho has already scored eight goals in just 21 appearances, and looks much better now he has got the arsenal t-shirt off his back.

Despite being 37 years old, Totti continues to play an important role within the team and the latest insight from the Ivory Coast international confirms the same.
The move to Roma has also reunited Gervinho with coach Rudi Garcia, with whom he worked at his former club Lille. Gervinho had moved from Lille to Arsenal only a few years ago.

"I really am happy to play with Totti. In attack, we can be very difficult to play against between us. He is not one who speaks that much but he knows that saying good things about me has given me great motivation. Thanks to his assists I have good opportunities to score, and thanks to Rudi Garcia I've got that feeling of trust back which I was missing," said Gervinho. The club went through a difficult one of fixtures during November, but they have now rediscovered the winning form.
