GRIEZMANN OUT TO PROVE DOUBTERS WRONG
Barcelona attacker Antoine Griezmann has continued to show his doubters why he needs to earn more respect and more playing time in the team with his recent fine performances for the La Liga giants. Following the arrival of Ronald Koeman as the new Barcelona manager in the middle of last season, many expected the France international forward to be frozen out of the team due to how below-par he performed before Koeman's appointment.
Before the end of last season, rumors began making the rounds that he could be leaving the Camp Nou, and the likes of Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan, Liverpool, and Inter Milan all got alerted. It was reported that Juventus were the most interested side and were ready to make an offer to Barcelona for the forward, but nothing concrete ever materialized from those rumors.
At the end of last season, Koeman informed striker Luis Suarez that he was no longer needed at the club and that he should look for a new club to continue his playing career. Barcelona eventually allowed the Uruguay international striker to leave the CAMP Nou, and he then went to join Griezmann's former side Atletico Madrid.
Upon the departure of Suarez, the rumors came back to life that Griezmann would be the next casualty at the Catalan giants. But since then, the 30-year-old has found himself in a fine form that has made him irresistible to select for a game. He has now increased his goal contributions and has been putting up some numbers recently.
I'm Barca's most recent game against Villarreal, the France forward scored two beautiful goals to help the club to a 2-1 comeback win that has seen them close in on League leaders Atletico Madrid in the race for the La Liga title.
