LIVERPOOL HOPE ON SUAREZ

Liverpool have been left stunned following the admission by Uruguay striker Luis Suarez that he may leave the club in the summer depending upon the offers on the table for his services.

The former Ajax man is one of the most wanted strikers in Europe. He has been linked with several clubs like Paris St Germain and Manchester City in the last few months. In an interview given to one of his native country's newspapers, the striker admitted that there have been offers for his services from clubs in the Champions League and they have tempted him.

However, Liverpool have rejected such rumours by saying that they are hopeful that the striker will see how the rest of his four year contract with the club. Suarez only recently signed a new deal with Liverpool, but he is thought to be unhappy at the club's failure to qualify for the Champions league. Despite bringing in several players like Joe Allen and Daniel Sturridge this season, Liverpool's bid to finish in the top four is all set to fail once again.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, though, is confident that the 26-year-old will not be tempted by offers from clubs in the Champions League. Rodgers has said that the comments made by the striker in Uruguay are not relevant to the club.

"I haven’t spoken to Luis yet. He was back late on Thursday and we just ran the medical team over him and he trained on Friday. All I am aware of is we have an outstanding player who has given everything for the club and he is very happy here. So what he says when he is with Uruguay is of no great relevance to Liverpool. I won’t speculate on anything," said Rodgers, whose team will be facing Aston Villa during the weekend.
