TOTTI IS ONE OF THE GREATS - RONALDO
It happens rarely to see Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo, hail another player as one of the greatest exponents of the sport.
Nevertheless, the Portugal star does it sometimes but whenever he hails any player, he makes sure it is someone who is actually worth it and a legendary figure.
The 31-year old winger also believes that the Italian play maker, Francesco Totti could yet go on for a couple more years and that the one-club man should be seen as a role model by young and upcoming footballers to nail the fact that age does not really matter as the Roma legend has made more than 760 appearances for the club.
“He (Totti) is actually one of the greatest footballers and continues to maintain his legendary form. I discovered this last year when I faced him as an opponent,” he told La Gazzettadello Sport.
“I suppose he can even go on for some more years before he retires from football. It is important for young people, who have to understand that age in football does not really matter.”
Finally, after years of relative obscurity, the Italian Serie A is gradually making huge strides to the top and this has not gone unnoticed to the eye of Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portugal international believes that the rise in the league is due to the influx of some quality players and that it is a welcome news for the football fraternity given that it will only improve how competitive the UEFA Champions League will be.
“Serie A has been a challenging league, and after a few tough years the league is coming back to the top. This is good for Europe too, because now in the Champions League, the most competitive teams will be there.”
