TOTTI SCORES 250TH SERIE A GOAL

Just two days into his 40th birthday anniversary, Francesco Totti has scored his 250th Serie A goal for Roma in their game against Torino on Sunday.

While it was good or the player, this was not enough for the team as the end of the game saw them emerge losers with Torino placing three goals into Roma’s back net.

Two goals from Iago Falque, who was on loan to Torino when the season began, ensured that Torino came out the victors while giving Roma their second successive away defeat.

A header by Andrea Belotti in the eight minute was good enough to ensure that Torino took the lead in the first half of the game. The 53rd minute saw Belotti being tripped over by Bruno Peres in the La Maggica’s 18 yard box. A penalty was awarded and a strike from Falque kept The Bull in the lead against their opponents.

Roma kept battling for form against the home team with Francesco Totti, Roma’s veteran playmaker pressing into service just before half time with a view of reversing their fortunes. Fortunately, La Maggica’s campaign paid off as they were awarded a penalty in the 55th minute of the game. Totti took on the penalty, sending Joe Hart the wrong way.

Torino’s goalie, Joe Hart who was on a season long deal from Manchester City, had a gay time in making sure that he thwarted all efforts from his former City teammate on several occasions at the Stadio Olimpico.

In the 65th minute of the game, a shot from Falque was enough to ensure that The Bulls maintained their 2 goals lead over Roma. His shot deflected off Federico Fazio, and into the net. This 3 – 1 win by Torino means Roma is let with 10 points from six games while Torino has eight.

Francesco Totti remains Serie A’s second all-time leading scorer with a goal record of 250, 24 goals short of Silvio Piola’s record of 274 in 1954.
