Totti Expects Italy To Possibly Win World Cup

Former Italy captain Francesco Totti has stated that he expects Italy to go to the latter stages of the World Cup 2014 and possible win the tournament. Ahead of the match with England, there is a lot of expectations from Italy. They reached the final of the Euro 2012 where they were beaten by Spain. Since then, Cesare Prandelli has introduced a number of younger players into the team and they are believed to be slightly stronger than before. Even though they are in a difficult group containing Uruguay and England, Totti believes that they can win the tournament.

Totti Afraid Of Retirement

Roma legend Francesco Totti has claimed that he is extremely terrified at the prospect of retirement, which could occur in the next few years. The 37-year-old has been playing regular football for the past two decades with Roma. He is one of the icons on the club, but his time at the club may soon be coming to an end. This is also true in the case of his career as well. Even though he has been going strong even last year, it’s widely believed that Totti’s legs may not allow him to play top-level football after two years.

Pellegrini Indirectly Hits Out At Mancini

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has indirectly hit out at the club’s former manager, Roberto Mancini, after winning the Premier league title. City managed to win the second league title in three years in spectacular fashion after a 2-0 win over West Ham. Despite leading the table only for 11 days throughout this season, City have managed to finish where it matters most. Even more than the victory, Pellegrini appears to have made the club likeable since they have been playing a brand of football that has been very attractive.

WORST PREM SEASON EVER

Manchester United have endured one of the worst seasons in their recent history after they are set to finish lower than fifth in the Premier league table. Even though the club will be without Champions League football for next season, interim manager Ryan Giggs confident that the club will be able to be successful next season under a new manager.

It is not known whether Giggs will be given the job on a permanent basis. A supporter of United, the player has stated that he does not see the reason why United can come storming out of the box next season.

ALBA BACKS DIEGO COSTA

Following Spain’s international friendly match against Italy, Jordi Alba expressed his satisfaction about playing with Diego Costa for the first time with Spain. Diego Costa made his debut with Spain on March 5 when Italy travelled to the Vicente Calderon Stadium.

“We’ve welcomed him with our arms wide open and I think it’s great, because he’s a player I really love, the way he battles. For me and all of us, it’s incredible that we’ve got him here with us.” Jordi Alba revealed.
